Your child may have played U6. Children, when they reach this age group, could already have played 4 seasons.
If your child is new to soccer this is what they can expect; here are the basics. Your child probably attend 2 practices each week (approximately 45- 60 minutes each) and a Saturday game where there are 4 players’ vs 4 other players.
- Your child should get equal playing time.
- No score is kept in U8
- You will have to purchase a uniform and a ball (size 3)
- You will see your child play soccer more coordinated than at U6 (not falling down as much), starting to be more of a team player and will pass more, can only perform one task at a time, and hopefully still scoring!
- We hope to see you in the bleachers positively cheering for your child!
Note: If it’s not ‘FUN’, your child won’t want to play the sport. Help make it fun.
You may get a phone call. Sometimes we are looking for coaches for this age group. If when you registered your child you did not express an interest to coach we may be calling you to coach! We will help you get started! Click here to learn about coaching.
